Agape Trust Helping Children

The Word Agape describes the type of love that gives without expecting anything in return. We believe that children need to grow up feeling really loved and appreciated. They need adults who can care and encourage them to develop feelings of self-worth and self-esteem.

By loving the children and giving them of our time we show them that they are valuable. God demonstrated His great love towards us by sending His only Son to die on the cross for our transgressions. If we really believe this we become messengers of God's love to those who need it.

Many children in this world grow up in conditions that violate their human rights. In Africa it is often caused by poverty and diseases like HIV/AIDS or Malaria. In other countries children might be the victims of irresponsible adults who are alcohol and/or drug abusers.

Many of these children live in orphanages, and allthough living in an orphanage is better then living on the street, it is also a well-known fact that life in an institution impedes child's overall development.

The purpose of Agape Trust is to support communities, individuals and organisations to create better conditions for children's health and development and organise meaningful and creative activities for the children to help them develop positive life-skills.
